The Iberian Group of Odonatology (Grupo Ibérico de Odonatología – GIO) is happy to announce the seventh European Congress of Odonatology (ECOO 2024) will be held in Sevilla (Andalusia) during the last week of June (25th – 28th) in the historical building of Casa de la Ciencia in collaboration with Doñana Biological Station / Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Save the dates in your calendar. A post-congress field trip will explore the best Andalusian rivers near Ronda in search of SW Paleartic endemics and African ‘new comers’.
We will soon post more information and contents on ECOO’s website: //ecoo24.wordpress.com and open the registration form in the following announcement.
We also want to highlight the congress will allow you to know first-hand the situation of dragonflies in the famous Doñana National Park and to know the story of the recently described Onychogomphus cazuma. In addition to the usual sessions, the programme will open two special sessions of the congress:
- Impact of Climate change on Odonata and conservation responses
- Ecology and adaptation of Mediterranean dragonflies
Please, share this information among the community of odonatologists.
We will be pleased to receive your comments and every support from Odonatological organizations in order to improve the congress and the funding of grants.
Regards on behalf of Organization Committee of European Congress on Odonatology 2024, Florent Prunier
